Barolo and Brunello Masterclass and wine flight with Sarah Abbott MW (Postponed)
March 24 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Barolo and Brunello challenge the greats of Burgundy and Bordeaux for “fine red wine” status, but awareness of their nuance, longevity and greatness is still growing. Despite their ‘classic’ status, there is still much to discover in Barolo and Brunello, as young winemakers start to make their mark on established family domaines, and new estates are established through acquisition, or the division of larger domaines as a result of family inheritance. As the on-trade market for fine Italian wine has grown, and Italian wines are increasingly given more depth and respect on wine lists, this is an ideal time to come and taste these two great Italian reds alongside each other.
Barolo and Brunello is an initiative of I Vini del Piemonte, CIA (the Italian Farmers Confederation of Alba), the Consorzio di Tutela Barolo Barbaresco Alba Langhe e Dogliani, and the Consorzio del vino Brunello di Montalcino. Their partnership aims to strengthen the export of top quality Italian wines through shared values and shared passion for the finest expressions of Italian terroir and culture.
